Chrome shower rail

9th February 2025

Arrived well packaged and on time. Fitter had up quickly with no issues I could have bought a similar looking item on Amazon £70 cheaper however it did not have a 10 year guarantee and buyers were reporting rust after a few months of use. I am hoping the 10 year guarantee on this rail means better quality. Certainly looks and feels good quality. Happy to recommend.

FAQ's

When redesigning your bathroom, a shower rail may seem like a minor detail, but it's actually the perfect finishing touch. Curved shower rails are a practical yet stylish addition, enhancing the classic look of a freestanding bath. Check out our FAQs for more information.

What's the difference between curved and straight shower rails?

A curved shower rail comes in two variations. The first type is a wall-to-wall rail with an outward curve, designed to create extra space around the bath or shower area for a more comfortable experience. The second option is a circular or oval-shaped rail suspended over a freestanding bath. This rail spans the entire bath, offering privacy while using the space.

straight shower rail, similar to the first curved type, also stretches from wall to wall. This style is typically used for baths that are attached to the wall at both ends.

What are the benefits of a curved shower rail?

Curved shower rails offer significant benefits, both functionally and visually. From a practical standpoint, they provide more space and improved privacy while showering or bathing. The outward curve ensures that the shower curtain doesn’t cling to you when wet, allowing for more freedom of movement. Additionally, the design helps keep water contained within the bath, with the oval shape ensuring the curtain hugs the edge of the bath more closely to prevent spills.

Visually, a curved shower rail adds character and style to your bathroom. Its unique design can serve as a standout feature, especially for those aiming to create a traditional look. Pairing it with a freestanding bath creates a timeless, classic bathroom aesthetic.

Do I need a special shower curtain for a curved rail?

When opting for a wall-to-wall curved shower rail, keep in mind that these rails are typically longer than straight ones, so you may need a larger shower curtain. While a standard shower curtain can still be used, it will offer slightly less fabric for full coverage.

For oval shower rails that span over a freestanding bath, two shower curtains are required if you want to fully enclose the bath area. This setup ensures complete coverage around the entire bath, providing better privacy and water containment.

How do I measure for a curved shower rail?

To measure for a curved shower rail, follow these steps:

  • Determine the height: Use a tape measure to find the desired height for your curved rail on both walls. Ensure that the height is aligned with the edge of your bath. Mark the position on each wall with a pencil.
  • Measure the distance: Measure the distance between the two walls with your tape measure, making sure it matches up with the marks you've made. Lock the tape measure at this length.
  • Measure the rail: Lay the curved shower rail flat on the floor. Hook the tape measure over one end of the rail, forming the letter "D" with the tape measure and the rail. Extend or shorten the rail until the other end perfectly meets the length you've measured.

This ensures a precise fit for your shower rail installation.
