Bathroom Ideas

One of our trade customers, Mr Woods, uses Victorian Plumbing products to renovate a breath taking bathroom all the way in Budapest. Find out how he did it and what products he used.

Traditional Bathroom

When it comes to making your perfect bathroom, there are certain things that you want to make it complete and really make it your own, but sometimes these can be hard to find. Our customers come from near and far to take advantage of our huge range of products, just so they can achieve their dream bathrooms. And we have just received the perfect example of a customer that has done just that, to bring together a small piece of paradise in a traditional bathroom renovation all the way from Budapest.

Just to put that into perspective, that’s over 1000 miles away. We obviously take ‘going the extra mile’ a bit seriously. But, look at the great work that came out of it, we think that it was worth it and so does the man that put it all together, Mr Woods, of www.interestingproperties.net. He has really achieved the perfect blend of traditional English chic and a style native to Hungary in this home, which is no easy feat, especially given that it was extremely hard to find a company that delivers period style bathroom furniture all the way to Hungary. Luckily we were in the area. Not really, but we want everybody to be able to get the bathroom they’ve always dreamed of and were happy to be able to make this happen.

The apartment has been created in a secessionist style, with two bathrooms, which is the national style in Hungary and is a variation of art nouveau and more local elements such as folk and floral motifs. The Traditional bathroom suite fits in perfectly with this style, as the toilet and sink display curves that work with the existing art nouveau in the rest of the apartment which heavily features curves in the design (such as etched glass and doorways). In the smaller bathroom the Burlington sink creates the main focal point upon which to set the tone of the rest of the space, of which there isn’t much. The floor tiles are from Spain and the wall tiles (metro tiles) were a Hungarian national product which are found in the beautiful 100 year old M1 Metroline in Budapest, so were ideal to complete the overall effect of the bathrooms.

These two bathrooms are brilliant examples of taking your vision and bringing it to life, no matter what limitations you may have. Whether you are 1000 miles away or simply attempting to mix two completely different cultural styles to form an idealistic haven of tranquillity, you can make it happen with a little work.
