Installation is tricky but…….

I was anxious about fitting the wc pan due to the comments made previously. It was a bit tricky but the instructions for this particular wc pan with concealed fixings are now on a separate set of sheets included in the 5 in 1 box and are mainly clear. These instructions have dimensions that contradict those on the fixings package. In the end it fitted well and tightened up securely.

Excellent but.....

Excellent product let down by poor installation instructions and a pathetic plastic grommet system to attach pan to the frame. There is an online video which is much better, but isn't specifically for this combination of pan and frame. Totally agree with Alan from Stoke, but my kit also included rod and bolts that would normally be use for a more exposed fixing system. With some degree of contortion I managed to use these to fix the pan. It does look great and function well, but I don't know what Grohe were thinking of when they designed the fixing system.

Good Quality Product: Let Down by Poor Instructions

This is a good quality product but let down by very poor instructions . The most critical part of the installation is attaching the pan to the frame ,the instructions only show one poor drawing with the words X - 8 mm and X - 33 mm . the assembly is plastic with a steel grub screw and this assembly has to support 30 kilos. As a consequence the treads stripped on the first few mm and the hole insulation ground to a halt . I had to fabricate another fixing and install . The home made assembly was stronger than the original item and a lot more secure ,but not everyone has a metal lathe in the garage. I chose this item for it's hidden pan fixing , but if I had known how it secured to the frame I would have gone with the exposed nut and bolt option . The measurement of the assembly is critical and without fully understanding this... one mistake and there is no going back. The weight of this Item should not be supported by a plastic thread and a grub screw .
