does the chrome come off of the hinges?

Hi there, The chrome is electroplated to the base material of the hinges so when maintained correctly the chrome finish will last a long time. Hope this helps.

Update to previous review

Had to contact the company as the seat I purchased in May had broken. We bought the seat because it was advertised as non slip, but when we received the original product it was missing the non slip lock+ fittings. We fitted it non the less and it seemed to be ok. Sadly it recently started to slip, and broke when we tried to move it back into position. I spoke with Matthew via live chat and he kindly called me to discuss the issue. I had intended to buy another seat but wanted to ensure that the lock+ parts would be included, however Matthew offered to replace the product FOC, and also advised me to contact him if there were any missing parts. He said the delivery may take up to 10 days, but the replacement seat was delivered within 2 days. All the parts were there and the seat has been fitted with no slippage at all. Great customer service by Matthew & Victorian plumbing. Thank you.

A Good Product

Bought to replace a toilet seat that, irrespective of what we tried, constantly slipped. This one fits perfectly and does not slip. One small criticism would be that it is displayed with a fitting that expands in the holes on the toilet base. These were not included in the box and it was only after purchase that I realised I needed to buy these separately. Fortunately I did not need these extra fittings but it should be clear that these have to be purchased separately.

Problems Installing the Seat

This seat is durable and likely to be hard wearing. However it was complicated to install (the instructions assume you know what all the bits and pieces actually are as they are not labelled. Also one of the holes for fitting was not fully drilled out and the metal lugs didn't match perfectly left and right with the consequence that the soft close doesn't work very well. Disappointing.
