What does the following mean when calculating it's BTU or KW output? BTU @ 50 Degrees: 4318

Asked by Paul

ANSWER

Shaun replied on 30th May 2019

Hi Paul, The heat output of radiators is measured in 'Delta T'. For the UK and EU, the standard is Delta T50 which is 50 Degrees. To convert BTU to WATTS you need to divide the BTU by 3.412 For radiator '3CWH3X1355' 4318 BTU divided by 3.412 = 1266 WATTS All the best, Shaun

What does the following mean in for calculating BTU's or Kw:BTU @ 50 Degrees: 4318

Asked by paul

ANSWER

Shaun replied on 29th May 2019

Hello there Paul, Radiator BTUs are measured to a Delta number. T50 is the UK and European standard rating in which BTUs are calculated. Generally the flow in to a radiator is 80 Degrees and the flow out is 60 Degrees so the average temperature through would be 70 Degrees. You would then remove the room temperature (average 20 Degrees) to get the Delta rating, in this case Delta T50, which is 50 Degrees. Hope this clears up some confusion for you, Shaun
